  • Kirby's learning about music! :)
  • March 18

    Mar 18, 09 027 Mar 18, 09 051 Yesterday I had the last quilting at my house (for quite awhile anyway). Julia, Sheila, Alma Miller, Thelma Miller, Rosetta Petre, Grandma Lee (Elmina), Jeanie Schrock, Tressa Knepp, Sherilyn and Caleb Shirk came and helped. I was so thrilled to get it done and out of the frame and my living room. It's been there since Thanksgiving. When we had company, Quinten and I hauled it upstairs to get it out of the way. Julia offered to bind it for me. She says she loves to bind quilts. I was, of course, thrilled with that too! Thanks, to all the people who helped on the quilt!! Even Quinten put a couple stitches in! :) And Sheila helped sew some of it together.

  • Major bummer!

    I just wrote a really long letter about our trip to Utah and somehow it got deleted. So, maybe someday, if I get the energy to write it again, I will, but for now..... sorry about that. It took about a HALF HOUR! Have a blessed new year. And live for the Lord, cause that's what counts!

    Last weekend, we flew down to Evergreen, Al. to the Southeastern Regional Fly-In. This was the first year I went. It was fun, but really cold at night. It got down in the low 40's, but in the day it was really nice and warm. Quinten flew down in his one place Pitts, and Kirby and I flew with Dustin in the Piper. We left Friday afternoon and came back Sunday noon. It was good to camp again! Aug-Sept 2008 063 These are 3 of the 9 planes from our area that went.Aug-Sept 2008 065 David Johnson was one of us.Aug-Sept 2008 062 Kedric Borntrager. He, Dustin, and Paul slept under here. Kedric slept in that little camo tent, from corner to corner. About the middle of the night we heard him franticly trying to get out of it, cause he got closterfobic.Aug-Sept 2008 077 Jane was knitting some socks for Kirby!Aug-Sept 2008 069 Quinten got picked, along with these guys, to do a fly-by in his Pitts. GOD'S ACCURACY

    God's accuracy may be observed in the hatching of eggs.

    For example, the eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;

    Those of the canary in 14 days;

    Those of the barnyard hen in 21 days.

    The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days;

    Those of the mallard in 35 days.

    The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days.

    (Notice, they are all divisible by Seven).

    The lives of each of you may be ordered by the Lord in

    a beautiful way for His glory, if you will only entrust Him

    with your life. If you try to regulate your own life, it will only

    be a mess and a failure. Only the One who made the brain

    and the heart can successfully guide them to a profitable end.

    God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant.

    The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same

    direction. No other Quadruped is so made. God planned

    that this animal would have a huge body, too large to live on

    two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it

    can rise from the ground easily.

    The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first.

    A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first.

    How wise the Lord is in all His works of creation!

    God's wisdom is revealed in His arrangement of sections

    and segments, as well as in the number of grains.

    Each watermelon has an even number of strips on the rind.

    Each orange has an even number of segments.

    Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.

    Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains.

    Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even number

    of bananas, and each row decreases by one, so that one row

    has an even number and the next row an odd number.

    The waves of the sea roll In on shore twenty-six to the minute

    in all kinds of weather.

    All grains are found in even numbers on the stalks, and the

    Lord specified Thirtyfold, sixtyfold, and a hundredfold - all

    even numbers.

    God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified

    times during the day, so that Linneus, the great botanist, once

    said that if he had a conservatory containing the right kind of soil,

    moisture and temperature, he could tell the time of day or night

    by the flowers that were open and those that were closed!

    Thus the Lord in His wonderful grace can arrange the life that

    is entrusted to His care in such a way that it will carry out His

    purposes and plans, and will be fragrant with His presence.

    Only the God-planned life is successful. Only the life given

    over to the care of the Lord is safe.

    Do NOT let your appearance go because you have married him now. Make yourself pretty for him. yes, he loves you no matter what, But you made sure that you showed him that you care enough to look nice for him before you were married, you should care more, not less, after he actually becomes your husband. it is not a matter of keeping his affections, but rather continuing to give him all that we have to offer. 5 minutes a day is all it takes!  --camilia brown

    that's the end of "12 things you should not do to your husband". I should have mentioned at the beginning of it that this was as much for me as anybody. that's why i did one a day, so i could think on it all day. hope ya'll enjoyed! here's a link to the site i got it off of. i haven't read anything else on that site, but snatches here and there, and it looks like an interesting site if you had time.http://www.visionforum.com/hottopics/blogs/dwp/2008/08/

    Do NOT become too busy to listen to him or do things for him. When you start to have lots of children it can become really easy to do this. But remember you are made to be a help meet to him. --Camilia Brown
